DIY Beaded Necklace Tutorial: Creating a Stunning Strand for Silver Pendants
I love necklaces, but I don’t always need my pendants to sit on a matching chain, sometimes I love the look of metal pendants on a beaded necklace strand. If you love this look too, here’s a fun tutorial that shows you how to make your own so that you can wear your favourite pendants on bead embellished necklaces! Please note that this tutorial contains affiliate links.
You’ll need the following tools and materials to make your beaded necklace strand for your pendant:
1: Some tiger tail wire. I used some thin tiger tail wire. Cut it to length by measuring out the length you would like your necklace to be, and add around additional 15 centimetres.

You can get wire here:
2: Pliers. I used my cutting pliers and flat nose pliers. I kept my round nose pliers on hand in case I needed them.

You can get plier sets here:
3: Some beads. I used these small round garnet beads. (Choose smaller beads to ensure that your pendant will slide over them easily).

You can get round gemstone beads here:
4: A pendant. I used this silver gemstone pendant. Make sure it has a bail (the loop at the top) that is large enough to fit over the beads you choose. I purchased this one at a local flea market, which can be a place to buy interesting jewellery.

You can get silver and gemstone pendants here:
5: Two sterling silver crimp beads.

You can get sterling silver crimp beads here:
6: A sterling silver clasp and additional jump ring.

You can get silver clasps and jump rings here:
Here are the steps to follow to make your beaded necklace strand to wear your pendant on:
1: Add the crimp bead and clasp to the end of the tiger tail wire.

2: Loop the end of the wire around the jump ring on the clasp twice so that it is secure, then thread it through the crimp bead.

3: Squash the crimp bead using the flat nose pliers.

4: Begin adding beads, continue beading until you have a length you like.

5: Add the second crimp bead to the necklace (excuse my bent wire, it got a little tangled, if this happens to you, continue adding beads and it will smooth out, or try to avoid having kinks in the working section of your necklace).

6: Add the second jump ring to the end of the wire.
7: Loop the wire around the jump ring twice like you did in step two.

8: Thread the wire back through the crimp and the first few beads on the wire. Make sure to pull it tight, extra pliers can be useful for getting a tight fit.

9: Squash the crimp using the flat nose pliers again.

10: Trim the excess wire using the cutting pliers.

11: Now you can add your pendant!

12: Once your pendant has been added, your necklace is complete!

Here’s another one I made using a black cabochon pendant on a necklace made with faceted gemstone beads. So pretty! There are so many options using this technique! What combination will you make?

How to make a delicate wire charm ring!
This is a cute ring that is my take on the dainty jewelry trend.
Use some wire, a head pin, a jump ring and a special bead to make your own delicate and dainty wire ring without the need for fire!
I think this ring looks great on its own, and stacked with other pieces you have in your jewelry box.
Please note that this tutorial contains affiliate links.
You’ll need these tools and materials to make this ring:
1: Pliers. I used my cutting and round nose pliers, but its always good to have your flat nose pliers on hand too.

2: Some wire. I used this 0.8mm thick gold-filled wire.

3: A jump ring that matches the colour of your wire.

4: A head pin that matches the colour of your wire.

5: A bead of your choice. I used this squashed round opalite bead.

6: A ring mandrel or something else round that is the size of the ring you want to make.

Follow these steps to make your own special dainty ring:
1: Bend one end of your wire to form a right angle.

2: Bend the right angle into a loop using the barrel of the round nose pliers.

3: Bend the wire around the ring mandrel.

4: Trim off any excess wire.

5: Bend the other side of the wire the same way you did in steps 1 and 2.

6: Link the ends of the wire together to form the ring loop.

7: Set the ring aside so you can work on the charm.
8: Add the bead to the head pin.

9: Loop the top of the head pin using the round nose pliers. This will secure the bead in place.

10: Attach the charm to the ring using the jump ring then close the jump ring to secure the charm in place.

Now your ring is finished and ready to wear! Will you make loads and stack them high on your finger or just wear one?

I really love this design! Make your own gemstone arch earrings.
These arch earrings are really really cool! You make them by hammering some pretty wire and add your fave gemstones to make your own version. I used some cute pink rhodonite gemstone chip beads, what kind of beads will you use? This tutorial contains affiliate links.
Here are the tools and materials I used to make my gemstone arch earrings:
1: Pliers. I used cutting pliers for this design. I also used flat nose and round nose pliers on the jump rings.

2: Two pieces of wire. I used some gold-filled wire, approximately 8cm long.

3: A file or sandpaper for getting rid of the rough edges of the wire.

4: A hammering block.

5: A hammer. I used a normal hammer but a jewelry specific hammer might be better ;).

6: Earring findings. I used these gold-tone stud earrings.

7: Two jump rings.

8: Beads. As mentioned before, I used eight rhodonite gemstone chip beads.

9: Something round to bend your wires around. I used a permanent marker.

Follow these steps to make your own wire arch earrings:
1: Hammer one end of each of the wires. Hammer on the steel block and hit the wire on both sides so that it becomes wide and flat.

2: Add four beads to each of the wires.
3: Push the beads to the hammered ends of the wires.

4: Hammer the other end of the wires the same way as you did in step 1. Make sure you make the wires wide enough so that your beads don’t slip off.

5: File or sandpaper the ends of the hammered wires so that they aren’t sharp.
6: Take your wires, find the mid point and bend them around the permanent marker to form an arch shape.

7: Add the earrings to each of the arches using the jump rings.

Now your arch earrings are finished!

6: Add more of the coloured beads to the four small eye pins.

7: Loop the end of each eye pin and set them aside.

8: Add some of the wooden beads to one of the longer eye pins. I added six to meet the middle of the pin (but leaving room for the end to be looped later). The add one of the earring hooks to the pin.

9: Add another set of beads so that there is an even amount either side of the earring hooks. Repeat this for the second pin.

10: Loop the ends of the pins to secure the beads and earring hook in place.

12: Attach each of the smaller eye pins to the top of each of the circle charms.
